[Other] Which gaming system should I buy?

Im leaning towards the PS3 because its a complete entertainment system and Ive heard too many issues with Xbox. Of course Wii would be fun entertainment for having friends over and the gf can play it...

Most of the issues with the Xbox, like the infamous Red Ring of Death, seem to have been resolved in the systems currently on shelves. The best thing to do is look at the games available for each system and see which has more games you want to play, then go with that.

Nintendo usually gets the most games IMO. So I'd go with the Wii. It's also cheaper than PS3, isn't it? But anyway, the Wii is probably more fun than the others. (IMO)

Well I'd stop leaning towards the PS3 if I were you.
If you tend to use your console with online friends, I'd go for the 360.
If you prefer to play alone or with real-life friends then get the Wii.
If you have no friends and don't really like videogames go get a PS3 or cup-and-ball... you'll get the same entertainment from both.

The 360 is more of a "traditional" console, so you might wanna get it if you prefer a nice old-fashion controller.
The Wii is a more experimental and physical console, if you like lightguns and othe rmotion controls then you'll love the Wii.

If your worried about red-rings on the 360 be sure to get a NEW one, not a second hand one.
If you want to make the most of the Wii then pick up Wii Sport's Resort for the Wii motionplus, you won't regret it

The issue with the three red rings still bothers me to this point. There was a recent video on Youtube of service men shooting a RROD 360 with various types of ammunition, probably paid with tax dollars.

I have a Wii and I'm totally happy with it. Lots of good games and the Virtual console is great for getting the old classics! 360 is pretty good as well. Haven't played much on the PS3 sadly.

Think you're going to get mostly people saying Wii on the forum since it's a nintendo forum and mostly Nintendo fans reside here :-P

I've played all three reasonably extensively, and in my experience at least the PS3 is way ahead of the pack, assuming you have the extra money it costs. Of course, what it really boils down to is whether the console you're looking at has the games you really want to play.

I have the Wii60 so I can play the Borderlands and Brutal Legends, and Wii for Zeldas and Marios. It's actually really hard to recommend one over the other. That's what I ended up having to do last generation. I bought an Xbox and a Gamecube. Yeah, not a huge Sony fan.

The Xbox 360 does not have that much errors you just have to not play it alot or you will get that red ring. Personally I think it depends on what you want in a game console. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are both great entertainment consoles and both have their great games. As for the Wii it's more of a fun gaming console. I do believe you said you wanted entertainment well then you should get a PS3 or Xbox 360. The PS3 is a really great entertainment system it has alot of media plus it has the internet. If you have Netflix you can stream movies from your Xbox 360 and you can download music videos and TV show episodes. I do believe you can do the same with the PS3. So really it all depends on what you want. This is what I think about them all.
