ok so yeah its another sonic game but is it worth playing? absolutely? is it the best sonic game ever... well no but it tries. Basically robuttnik has split the world in to pieces and its up to sonic to fix it. cool right well there's a catch due to robuttnik draining sonic of the 7 emeralds he gets turned into a wereworlf. so now at night time sonic turns into a werehog gets stretchy arms and slams baddies god of war style. personally its kinda fun after you leveled him up but can get really repetitive. luckily the day stages are a blast! seriously they are very fun
they go from a 2d to 3d perspective fairly seamlessly and the speed never stops.
GRAPHICS
The graphics are amazing everything looks smooth and runs perfectly
the cut scenes are also very sharp
SOUND
okay so the sound is mediocre and after a while does get annoying but its not enough to want to mute it(unless your playing a werehog stage)
GAMEPLAY
The day stages play great but some times the speed is just too much and you will end up just running in to things no mater what you do. and controlling on water can be a little tricky but over all its not bad now when it comes to the werehog stages its not the fighting that gets annoying but the platforming. werehog sonic is just to clumsy and you will find your self dieing a lot when trying to preform basic jumps over water or on elevated platforms. the only up side is his stretchy arms can save you by grabbing ledges to prevent death but more often then not there will be no ledges=/
Value
well the game really isn't hard but what can get annoying is collecting the little sun and moon medals which are needed to proceed to diffrent stages kinda like stars in Mario 64 except annoying as hell!!! they are hard to get in the day stages because you usually pass them by because you are going so fast. It is ways easier to collect them in the night stages but overall the whole system is whack. why have medals when it would be better to just get through one stage and go to the next its better that way. so the over all value of the game isn't that high its definitely a play through it once and your done type of game.
OVERALL
we have all seen the hate for sonic over the past few years and personally as a fan and a gamer I dont think sonic should die haha. hes got a lot to give still and I think sonic unleashed was a step in the right direction. hopefully Sega builds of its success but learns from its mistakes as well. NO more medals NO more alter ego stuff.Sonic doesnt need gimmicks. This is a decent game and worth playing at least once don't expect to be blow away but it's enjoyable.
